The bill exempts electric bicycles and up to $200 of related equipment from the sales tax starting August 1st, 2021 and ending May 1st 2027, or when $500,000 of exemptions have been granted. (It says the Legislature intends to extend the expiration if a review by the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee finds that the number of electric bicycles purchased has increased by 25 percent compared to the number of electric bicycles in 2020.)
